Lump On Neck
10 Answers
I have a lump the size of a Malteser on the front of my neck near my windpipe. I think it may be a boil or abscess or just a spot with no 'head'. It moves but is attached to skin. I only noticed it a couple of days ago.
I put some spot cream on it but nothing happened. Is there anything else that I can put on it to make it go away?
It is a little painful and I have taken some Paracetemols. I cant take Ibuprofen.
I'm now going to see if I can get some sleep. :-)

(It look like Sqad's answer for almost everything might apply if you're experiencing pain or discomfort: Ibuprofen!)

Yes, good thinking wolf......my first diagnosis was a bit hasty but my second will be spot on.
Sebaceous cysts may become infected, so keep an eye on increasing pain, redness and tenderness which my indicate the need for antibiotics as suggested by NoM.
Bloody BAs....give mine to Buenchico, he collects them.

Sqad, I have my flu jab on Saturday (diabetic). I take it there shouldn't be a problem. The lump has shrunk a bit but is still there. I am due to go and see GP to discuss my fluctuating Lithium Serum levels in near future so if lump still there I will mention it.
Spreeny - thanks for your sensible suggestion. It is a new lump and it has decreased in size so I will see how it goes.
