I've had 3 years of it! Having imbibed of the grape too freely I fell asleep on a sofa with (also) my left foot trapped between the seat squab - so I turned over and my foot didn't, and yet I slept on. When I awoke I couldn't stand for the pain, but had to drive soon after 600 miles to Germany, which didn't exactly help.
The specialist I was referred to said he didn't want to operate, so I had special shoe inserts made, (which I believe f***** -up my knees!) I now wear boots to give ankle support with over the counter inserts for plantar fasciitis, I sleep with a plastic and velcro splint to hold it firm when sleeping and drive an automatic car with self-made wooden wedge under my left foot to keep it in a comfortable position.
In my case, it is best when the foot has weight on it, if it dangles it sets off the pain badly.
Perhaps I need see someone else?
