Anyone else on thyroxin medication?

I’m trying to find out if there’s a liquid version of the pills, which my unhelpful GP is reluctant to give me - probably thinks it would cost HIM money...

Any ideas?

In all the years I've had this condition, I have never been offered it in liquid form bainbrig.
The nhs are going to deliver the most cost effective surely?
Yes you can get liquid thyroxine.....but it is *** expensive.
I never knew that.

Thyroxine at night + plenty of water = sleepless nights.
Thyroxine in morning + plenty of water = low mood.

Liquid means taking night time dose AND sleeping through the miseries!

And does my GP get financially penalised if he prescribes a more expensive drug?
the CCG will have a list of drugs that the GP's CAN'T prescribe and this is probably one of them. As an example, my CCG have said that no-one can prescribe enteric-coated steroids any more, and ordianry ones do the same job
Why would it be any different for you if you took it in a liquid form? I take my tablets before breakfast every day and it has never affected my mood. I take 75mg one day and 100mg the next. I was told to take it before food first thing.

I am glad it doesn’t affect your mood. It affects mine, badly.
