Allergic to sex?

Whenever I see my new partner I find I have a rash and itchy watering eyes. I have had extensive allergy patch tests but they have not revealed anything. The consultant dismissed the idea that I was allergic to my partner but I have researched on the internet and find it is possible to be allergic to seminal fluid

I suffered a very severe reaction last week which involved my lips swelling and one of my eyes after I had rubbed it - this immediately after intercourse. I am pretty sure that this is the cause of my problem. I was wondering if anyone else out there has suffered a similar reaction/allergy or knows of anyone who has and has had treatment for this condition.

Thanks

It could also be -

the condoms if you use them - the latex or the spermicide.

any lubricants

or even if your boyfriend is using talc, soap, even aftershave or body spray, down there, could be an irritant for you

also could be your washing powder - which gets on the outside of his bits, from his clothes, bedcovers, towels etc, but not inside yours - until he puts it there.

it can also be something he is eating that you have a sensitivity to - even if you eat it to, it can irritate sensitive areas

rinse everything extra well and try a process of elimination and see what happens

good luck

I have never heard of it, but like with all allergies it is a question of process of elimination of whatever it could be. First of all .. do you only get these symptoms when there is sexual contact? What happens when you see your partner in just the normal day to day things? Have you tried not having contact with the seminal fluid i.e. using a condom, and whether it makes any difference. What products does your partner use i.e. shampoos, body lotions etc. And ... has it ever happened with anyone else, or only this person? If it was seminal fluid wouldn't it have happened with others, or maybe each persons is different. Not sure, I think I would go to another doctor, perhaps privately, to a specialist.
sorry had not seen first reply when I posted mine but we are thinking on similar lines
or it could be a wing up question posted by a time wasting moron, always look for the obvious i say.
I mean wind up, tryin to eat cheesy garlic bread at same time as typin see
Hi MrsFab, Well actually my wife gets a skin reaction if my saliva touches her, it goes red and itchy for some time. (It means I had to stop licking her all over!!) this started a few years ago for no obvious reason.

Thanks for taking the time to answer and I would add mrspswayze that this is in no way a wind up but a very real problem.

I could further elaborate if I tell you I am married and have absolutely no reaction to my husband but I am certain that the allergic reactions I suffer are coming from my new lover.

I am unsure which bit of him it is that causes the allergies although seminal fluid is a definate after last weeks very dramatic reaction. I fear that I may also be allergic to his saliva and possibly his sweat since whenever I see him, even if no sexual activity occurs (other than kissing) I still get some sort of reaction like the wife of gapmoc.(previous poster) - usually itchy rash on arms and face and watery eyes.

The tests I had with the dermatologist ruled out allergy to any of the chemicals in every day toiletry items like soap, antiperspirant, shower gel, hair products, soap powder.

I am going to have to persue this further but the delicate situation I find myself in means I don't want my GP to know the cause of the allergies although I need him to refer me to another specialist to get myself sorted out if at all possible.

Could it be a physical reaction from guilt ?
then you need to repent , sinner .look for the bluebird of happiness .
mrsnevergonnahappenpswayze - why do you think this is a wind up?? It happens!
