Can anyone suggest a good book - still in print! - which gives recipes and ideas for salady lunches using grains and pulses? I want to be able to make up various little salad pots like the small and expensive ones you get in the supermarkets. Need a change from sandwiches! Thanks.

I can't give you any recommendations from personal experience but I've never been disappointed with any book published by Dorling Kindersley - and this gets good reviews on Amazon:

River cottage veg, there are two books. Yotam Ottolenghi books have fabulous salads. The Helmsley sisters also have interesting salad recipes. Scanning through the Riverford Organic website is another source.
Anything by Nicola Graimes. Check out her offerings on Amazon.
This is worth it for the photography alone....it also has an excellent selection of salads...and other yummy meals.
