Triglyceride Levels High Is This A Problem
8 Answers
I went to my GP for my diabetic results and my HBA1C is greatly improved from 70 down to 57 having been put on jardiance. However he did briefly say that my triglyericdes were high at 5.6 I didnt really take that on board as I was so pleased at the HBA1C. I am on statins and my cholestrol is 4,9 so they are ok with that. But are high triglycerides a problem and if so how do I get them down?

Triglycerides are a mixture of chemical substances of which both types of cholersterols ( high and low density HDL &LDL) are the most important factors.
Some say, but not all (including me) that there is a direct link between high triglyceride levels with heart disease and strokes.
You can diet, but the most important facets for you is to stop smoking, reduce your alcohol and control your diabetes and BP, that you are doing well. Statins are again a contentious issue, but you are taking them which will lower your Triglycerides.
