Last night, a neighbour (lives alone) in her 80’s was broken into while she was asleep. Police have just been round to see if I heard anything. Her house and car keys were stolen.
Haven’t had a chance to talk to her yet.
The question is about another neighbour, even older, who is in a nursing home at the moment, but coming home soon. Should I mention this to her? (Also lives alone.)
Don’t want to scare her, but should I make her aware?

No. I don’t think you should. I’d just pay them a visit and do a little discrete security check yourself.
No, don't tell her, unless you are specifically asked about the problem. The other neighbour (who is in a nursing home) will only be made nervous by your news, and you are certain to make her feel that she is not safe in her home. Leave things as they are, and say nothing.

No, as Zacs said would be best.
Install security cameras to overlook neighbors & explain why to them

Thanks. I think you’re right. It may be a one-off thing, and now that the police are involved, unlikely that they will come back.
Since your other neighbour can't do anything with the news, except worry, it seems cruel to pass the information on.
