Dental Implants

Well after 4 years of perusing the above - I have finally done it today. Knocked out for over an hour and he drilled and left implants.
8 stitches/sutures then my oul dentures back in. The sutures are dissovable (sp) still a tad drowsy. Go back next week for him to make sure gums are healing.
Gums have to heal until next February. I know it is long but if I waited 4 years I can wait for 5 months.
Will be so glad to have those dentures/brandyballs out of my mouth. Still numbed up and my eyes are watering and a little closed but they have given me antibiotics, steroids and painkillers and mouthwash. Will hopefully improve every day. That's start of my journey.

They also took out a back tooth that was infected as they were going to leave it until I was uncomfortable - no - while I was knocked out - I said take it out - couldn't believe the ease of that either. I am so pleased with myself. Never told soul ie friends and siblings cos I know they would have been negative towards me like just sorta worrying for me per se.

Well done JJ. I've had a front tooth denture since about 1956 so I'm used to it by now (had a few added in recent years) but when they became commonplace I did consider an implant (especially as the single front one regularly breaks off the plate) - but I was too cowardly to go ahead (and didn't find the discomfort with the plate which you experienced), so I'm full of admiration for your pluck - you're a star.
Yes I know going abroad is much cheaper but I would worry about anything going wrong - at least he is literally 10mins away by taxi.
Thanks Canary - even the one plate can be irritating but I literally know hundreds of friends who have the dentures top and bottom sometimes and they say they are fine with them. However on "questioning" them further LOL - all of them say as soon as they are at home - out they come and into a mug.
