I'm doing a big fat nothing romantic (although I know I have got something because I've been told not to touch something until tomorrow, and I'm excited about that) because my other half is away, but what are you romantic passionate folks doing for your loved ones, or are you of the opinion it's all a load of commercial twaddle?
My wife will be helping me to celebrate my birthday. She is treating me to a meal out at a ‘posh’ hotel and we will exchange Valentine cards, as we have done for the past 61yrs.
I think it's a load of commercial twaddle, back in my day (slap myself of wrist for saying that) we went to a dance on Valentine's night, might get a few hand made cards from 'secret admirers', usually my brothers to be sure I was not left out :) for the real romantics, it was maybe a chance for a proposal but that was it. My Dad used to bring chocs to my Mam, she shared them with us
I shall be doing nothing special not even buying an ironing board cover
we are going on holiday Friday morning so flowers/cards will not be seen and will be wasted
however we shall both go to a shop where these things are sold and point out to each other the biggest prettiest bunch of flowers and say probably in unison I thought about getting you this bunch . then we will pick the most expensive card in the shop and say I thought about this one for you!
oh how we laugh year in year out .......
...what am i doing, heading to Dublin for a meeting, one I'm not looking too forward to - if it goes well, I'm coming home to pop open a bottle of champers I've had on ice since Christmas :)
Blood tests in the morning, pick up scripts in the afternoon.
Seriously considering giving Mrs T an hour off her domestic chores to demonstrate my love for her.
I was going to take a day off and go buy my wedding dress and visit my grandparents, but work is getting in the way so that may be postponed until Friday.
Mr BM is off out tomorrow night (it's a regular Thursday thing for him) so I imagine, absolutely nothing.
But he shows me he loves me every day. Well most days. OK some days. OK, in reality I prefer the cat ;)
Then I hope it does go well for you, Ducksie and I hear that cork popping..... Gx
Me?....Well I'm sort of confined to the house for a week....more for vanity than anything else so Dave will make do with a smile and an offer to cook which he will decline.... :-)
