Shingles Without A Rash

Has anyone ever had it? I have the symptoms of Shingles but without the main one. Could it still be shingles? I can't bear anything to touch the place and it's so sore but just on the surface but there's nothing to see

My youngest daughter is currently being seen at the local eye unit for optical shingles, I imagine that wherever the Herpes Zoster affects you it's really the luck of the draw as to when it clears up and if you get any recurrent post herpetic pain or discomfort.

Hi, bednobs.
The rash doesn't always appear where the pain is it can be further along the nerve.
I had awful pain by my knee, above and below and even material brushing against it hurt.
The rash was on my bum and first seen by Mrs JtH......my head doesn't twist that far round. LoL
Get Mr bednobs to scrutinise you thoroughly! :o)

when I had shingles, it was just a slighly itchy eye, no rash anywhere.
