bednobs have you tried both or just SW?
Somewhat follow a slightly adapted Slimming World regime when I have to lose weight quickly so yeah big thumbs up for them x
Weightwatchers used to be good until they became more protein focussed IMO. Now they are not just a low fat diet but a low carb one as well and that for me was too many food groups to restrict. I couldn't survive on their starvation rations and it was just impossible to follow with my lifestyle. Everyone I speak to that has weight loss that they keep off seem to be on Slimming World.
tried both
i think sw is good if you like to eat a lot - you can eat as much pasta rice and potatoes as you want. I also ate a chocolate bar everyday (and lost 3.5 stone)
I am a member of Slimming World and it's fantastic! I can't speak for Weightwatchers as I have never been. I've lost over 5 stone in just over a year and never go hungry.
I did both...WW as meetings, and SW on my own. I preferred SW because I could eat loads of carbs. I lost on both.
Now I do very low carb on my own, and I tend to see myself as having previously been addicted to carbs...I was always hungry even with eating loads of them.
Admittedly, I'm not familiar with how they've changed in recent years.
Decades ago, went to WW. Worked for me at the time. Suspect there's little difference between these organisations. My experience is probably not relevent to the present though.
Or even eat properly and eat less!
Yes, they do encourage you to do that. Gives advice and support; encouragement too.
I have tried both over the years and was most successful on WW. Having said that, all "diets" work if you follow the "rules". Decided I'm just a greedy pig!

I agree slimming world is a great diet! Never hungry & it works. Can still have my wee treats - so many recipies etc online xxxx
Neither. Lifestyle change. All these diet plans can help you lose weight in the short term, but only a total lifestyle change will sort you out.

Lift weights 3 or 4 times per week, keep your calories in check, and do some cardio - even walking.
I have many friends who have lost weight on SW so it definitely works; that said, the fact that you can eat unlimited certain carbs and a lot of the food they recommend is chemical sugar laden, processed and generally poor quality, I would steer clear. My sister has just lost 5 stone doing Keto, and I have friends who have lost weight and got rid of medical problems using the Wahls Protocol. It seems these days that we now know that sugar is in all processed food and the high and constant levels are what is making us all insulin resistant/diabetic. The only way to burn the fat on your body is to stop putting sugar into your system, as that will always be used for fuel first. So by cutting out carbs and sugar, you will lose weight FAST. That said, it is very restrictive. Personally I favour fasting. I feel amazing the day after a fast and it has cured me of cravings and over eating.
