Since coming out of hospital, I have had visits from Community Nurse, Community Matron, Health Visistor, Occupational Therapist, and I have phone numbers for emergency, all to keep me healthy and out of hospital.
How humbling. How wonderful. God Bless the NHS.

I think it’s luck of the draw my GP clinic is amazing but the hospitals are hit and miss, got much better service going private
I had superb service from the ambulance service, the trauma unit, ICU and the recuperation ward when I collapsed a couple of months ago. Like ummmm I was sent a feedback form which I was happy to return with nothing but praise on it. I was able to thank all the hospital departments personally but the ambulance teams are more anonymous; I was able to go to their website and email my thanks as well as filling in a questionnaire.
It's nice to be appreciated. So often you get complaining and criticism even when bending over backwards to help people.
Hi Theland the NHS are brilliant. They have been very good with me and my mother over the years. Hope you are keepin well too. Take care and god bless. JPT xxxx
Yes but some decisions Ive witnessed today leave me speak-less. My partner Jens in hospital because her blood sugars had gone very high. This morning they told her she was being discharged, when I got there I said fine, brilliant, what are her blood sugars now, came back at 21.1 Oh Just the same as when we arrived then. Doctor who I had falling out with / discussion he said they had Jens sugar levels under control and gave a massive dose of rapid working insulin, sure enough her blood sugars came down quickly, so he said in acceptable limits so discharge. I said we will just wait a little while within 2 hours levels back to 18.8. In the end nurse advised staying in, Doctor said its up to you whether you stay or go home, obviously opted to stay, wish Id have got his name.
Hopefully tomorrow she will be transferred to specialist diabetic ward, why she wasn't there in first place I dont know.
What do you think?
Well that’s not very good is it!
No not particularly I just want Jen moved to a more specialist ward, at hospital they are able to increase or decrease volume of drugs as they see fit, we cant be expected to do that at home.
I have to confess that I know nothing about blood sugar levels and what is acceptable levels......
I have a lot to thank our wonderful NHS for.
The treatment my Vera and I have had cannot be faulted. I'm putting myself in their hands again today. Going for an MRI scan on my brain. I'm not worried about the scan I've been though the MRI scanner before, it's what the might find that will be interesting!
Sorry Smow ideally should be around 5 and 9, Doctor was saying 11 to 15 would be ok.
Boaty I think service is brilliant normally, but what I have experienced yesterday is not, damn shoddy.
I’ve got an MRI booked for me next Sunday at 8am!
Well Smow I think its good that they are using expensive equipment over the weekend rather than it sit idle?
Tony I read your post. I agree with you. That's not at all acceptable.
Smow it should be quiet at that time! I hope it gives a good result xxx
I agree. Was just really surprised - didn’t think they even did appointments on a Sunday.
They've been doing seven day weeks here for as long as I can remember. Many of Vera's were on Sundays.
That’s what the nurse said when I queried it. I’ve just personally never had a Sunday appointment so was surprised.
