Toe Room Wanted

For all sorts of reasons (special insole, hammer toes, etc) I need a shoe with a DEEP toe-box, so that the knuckles of my toes don't blister by rubbing the roof of the shoe.
I used to buy these:

but they've stopped making them, and the few that are left around are too big or small (I need 10s).
Anyone else with a similar problem? If so, any recommendations. I did try getting some shoes hand-made by a firm in Birmingham a few years ago, but even though they were v.expensive, they weren't as good as those in the Amazon link in terms of comfort (and lack of blistering).

I would agree, they can be uncomfortable. I had many pairs over the years, for work. Shoes all my life.
How I over came the discomfort was Really, trying before buying. Then it is the usual breaking in. Also the laces that came with the shoes may need upgrading for comfort. I found the (for me) best laces have a slight 'give' - this helped with long distance walking. Also I found wearing socks inside out also prevented the stitching across the toe rubbing. I have very happy feet. Now, I can wear new safety shoes straight out the box. All weather's, though they can get hot, in summer.

Got it, kwillmott. Luckily, both the local B&Q and of course Amazon have a good returns policy, so having tried them on for an hour or so (won't need any longer), they can go back.
It would be nice to find some shoes that don't harm my feet (foot actually). I bought two pairs of the Plymouths when they were going- I should have bought more!

Spath: Plymouth/Exmouth? Very similar product description to the original Plymouths, too. I shall keep a close eye on that one, to see if size tens turn up. I went from 9s to 10s on the advice of my podiatrist when I had my last orthotic insole fitted, but I think a ten and a half might be pushing it a bit.
Thanks for that link!
