Wisdom Tooth

I was telling sqad I was at the dental hospital today having an impacted wisdom tooth removed, I waited only 3 weeks for my appointment,during the time I waited I got some horror stories regarding the removal of wisdom teeth,just to say my opinion is depending on who you get,2 young ladies and every thing went fine,what I am trying to say don’t listen to the horror stories.

Did you have the bottom, or top wisdom teeth removed?

They can turn into horror stories.

Bottom spath and I am sitting here feeling fine,the injections have worn off,and 2 paracetamol I am raring to go

It is the top ones that cause problems. They usually tend to remove the bottom ones, if they have to remove any at all.

Some people, after the injections, stay high as a kite for a while.

Glad it went well for you, jordy. I heard some horror stories too before I had mine out.
It wasn’t too bad for me. I just looked battered and bruised for quite a while afterwards.

Thanks cloverjo,things went really well the young lady dentist was lovely,her assistant was from Ghana and chatted to me all through my treatment.

in all honesty, there's still plenty of time for things to go wrong (or start hurting) if you only had it done today!

Glad it went Well for you Jordyboy. Several years ago now, I had to go into hospital to have 4 impacted wisdom teeth out, but it was decided to leave top left one alone. Thus was because it was too close to sinus/ nerve. After anaesthetic, I looked like a hamster, with bruising on my jaw and chest. It was a bit painful but had plenty of good pain killers.

I pulled my own wisdom tooth out not long ago. It was an instant relief.

Are you feeling any better ummmm my dear? Was going to ask you your opinion on your latest holiday,was it better than Crete and Cyprus?

No, but I only got home yesterday evening. No where near as good as Greece and Cyprus. Good company, nice and clean hotel, lovely staff, fantastic beach and good food but.....not much else to do. Nothing in walking distance anyway. I wouldn't go back. It was nice to get away though and I have a nice tan :-) x

I had 3 wisdom teeth removed without gas etc.
My dentist (very expensive dentist) had just done several courses on yoga and meditation - removed them for me, very little swelling and no bruising despite one being impacted.

Thanks ummmm,it’s just that I keep getting friends and family going on about why go back to Paleochora ( Crete)try someplace else,I answer them by saying I like it and until someone like yourself says where you went was fantastic,I will stick to what I know, and anyway my wife likes Crete as well.XX

Rockrose my dentist referred me to the dental hospital in Edinburgh as the tooth was impacted,no charge.

Yes, I really enjoyed Crete. I'd certainly go back there.

This was a dentist in Norfolk and some years ago- I know that I have friends that have had teeth removed more recently and were referred to hospital.

All this talk of holidays reminds me, that I must make a decision about cancelling some of our holidays that are coming up :-(

you have a reason for cancelling your holidays rockrose is it ill health where were you heading or am i being to nosy?

My day is very ill and whilst I was travelling far Eire, Scotland, Belgium I kinda feel guilty for going away.
