Varifocal Glasses

After cataract surgery vision is perfect..need varifocals for reading plus prisms to correct double visision..does anyone know why these lenses are as expensive as ones to correct both far & near sight?

I have double vision and can't have varifocal lenses now as the prisms are too strong. I just have one for reading and one for distance. The cost of these lenses is a lot cheaper, but it is a fiddle with two pairs of glasses. I think the reason they cost more is that they are varifocals which are always more expensive, but you only need one pair.

wray, talk to Asda Opticians, highly recommended by Which, and who I bought my thin varifocals from last year for £110 all-in including frames. They get their lenses from the same place as all the well-known high street spec people so the only difference is the massive saving on price. I used to pay £600+ for my specs, not anymore. Have a look at this link.
