You know the awful feeling you get in your leg when you know you're about to get a bad cramp? Well I've had it in my calf for over 24 hours now. It came on so suddenly, but won't progress to a full cramp. It's really quite painful when I wak on it.
My mum Had a DVT so I do tend to panic and overthink a bit,but we're on holiday and I don't want to make the family change their plans. I'd rather not go to a hospital and wondered what it could be or if anyone else ever had it? Any ideas on what I can do to alliviate it?
-Not red
Warmish but not overly
-Not swollen (although I'm overweight so hard to tell)
-Can put weight on it
-Hurts a great deal when walking
Thanks guys

A very helpful history.
It is unlikely to be a DVT.....very unlikely.
If you are on holiday in warmer, hotter climes, then i must question whether you are drinking enough fluid. ...is your urine concentrated...if it is, then make sure that you drink more water until it becomes straw coloured.
Just wondered what other medications you are taking and what is your current medical history.
It does sound like a muscle strain and should be treated on that basis...ibuprofen and rest.
Give it another 24 hours to monitor the situation.

Hi sqad
I take high strength vitamin D (severe deficiency, been on them for about 3 months but count still low)
Ropinerole for restless legs (changed from pramipexole 3 months ago, been on them for donkeys years)
Desogestrel
I'm on hol in UK.
Thank you x
Your reply is appreciated and my opinion remains the same.
Try massage, spraying with cold water for ages then hot water. Stretch the muscle but careful not to send it into spasm. Drink lots of water and eat some salt.
