Ladies Medical Question For Sqad And Anyone With Info Lol
31 Answers
Ok, I hate posting questions like this but here goes. I’ve had perfectly normal periods up until this month. This one started as usual, but is still going on 3 weeks later with no signs of stopping! And it’s much heavier than usual.
Now I gather that women can start the first signs of the menopause as early as their early forties, but I thought that periods were meant to slow down, not get heavier. I’ve looked online but am just getting all different info.
I don’t want to bother my doctor unnecessarily, but is this something to worry about or not?

Many women have to get a contraceptive pill to help ease their periods because during menopause the flow can be so extreme they need some assistance to get it to stop.
I would see your doctor. It would be good for him to assess your stage.

We are dealing with one episode of excessive bleeding (menorrhagia)and as such can only give advice on that basis.
Providing that you feel well and not dizzy (anaemia), then at this stage it is no big deal.
menopause is unlikely, ectopic pregnancy is unlikely BUT hormonal may well be a likely cause (emotional)
See this period out and then monitor your periods for the next 2-3 months.

I had this very suddenly in my late thirties. No sooner did one period end then another one started and in the end it was like one continual period with a week between them. Turned out I had fibroids.
Monitor for a while then go to the doctors. If it is something like that you can have a D&C to get rid of them .Mine kept growing though and I ended up having a hysterectomy.
Hopefully though it isn't anything like that and it's the start of the menopause.Don't worry.
