Anal Skin Tag

I visited my GP some time ago about a growth on my anus. She said that she wasn't exactly sure what it was but it *looked* like a skin tag and there was nothing that could be done as the NHS don't take skin tags off (fair enough) and dismissed from her surgery. BUT the bloody thing hurts every time I have to wipe myself (and bleeds) and I swear its grown since. If it grows any bigger, Ill be wearing a tail!

I don't mind any ass jokes but seriously, this is starting to get me down as it can be really painful when trying to wipe after toileting.
Personally, I'm not convinced it even looks like a skin tag (Yes Ive looked...in a mirror...and it looks nothing like any skin tag Ive ever seen) and the GP in question is known to my family to be a bit of a health hazard.

What to do? If it IS a skin tag can I get rid of it somehow? (I'll even pay to go private)
Just need it gone.

I'd also try a different GP. I know nothing really but it certainly sounds more like a pile than a skin tag. If it's sore even a baby wipe might hurt. I'd suggest using a nice wad of cotton wool drenched in warm water for cleaning/wiping. Poor you.

That sounds terrible mate I hope you get it sorted. I had a skin tag on my neck - fairly small one though. The GP would not do anything but I cut if off myself with some tooth floss. Might be more difficult up the bum through ha ha. You can also buy skin tag kits at boots - sounds really serious if it's bleeding why don't you call 111 emphasise bleeding and they will make you an out of hours appointment with the GP at Haywood Hospital.

Tilly I have a pedal bin in all my bathrooms, with a plastic bag in them. Baby wipes are used due to medical reasons and when the children need extra cleaning after accidents. The inner bag is changed every other day as would be a nappy bag when they were smaller. No smell, no problem. Sorry if this offends you

You tell them it bleeds, they tell you that they don't normally bleed because they're tough; it'll be the pile. I suspect you'd need to go private.

(Or maybe keep treating it with something mildly acidic and hope it'll burn away in time ? Just a thought.)

When I lived in North Yorkshire my doctor had a Tag Surgery one afternoon a week and anyone could go without appointment and a nurse would burn them off.
Be nice if all surgeries did that.

Not so spath..........even medically qualified personnel occasionally have difficulty, particularly if a skin tag is associated with a hemorrhoid.

spath...you are correct, if it is OUT then it could be pushed back in, but quite often, they are on the edge and difficulty to know whether they are in or out, especially if they are associated with and partially hidden by.......an anal tag.
