Had my blood pressure taken by a nurse at my GP surgery this morning. Slightly high so she suggested that losing a wee bit of weight and getting more exercise would help. Fair enough, I can take that on board. However, the wry smile is because she must have been about 18 stones and I doubt if she gets much exercise. Practice what you preach springs to mind or is it more do as I say, not as I do?

she was only passing on advice
she has probably had the same advice but has decided not to heed it and she is probably happy with her shape and size and maybe her BP is spot on
To wrongs don't make a right springs to mind, but if you only have slightly high why worry that much.
she is paid to pass medical advice on to you, not paid to take medical advice herself. She' like you has the ability to ignore and advice given. One would have thought you might wish to avoid having to take medication :)
a abit lilke saying to an obstertrician:
what do you know about having babies - you 've never had one!

altho psychoanalysts do a training psychoanalysis on them selves

Like bednob says, she's just doing her job.
