Literally the last few weeks I’ve been forgetting the most major, and I mean major things. Or doing them and then not remembering I’ve done. them at all. For example it’s my birthday in 2 days and I was laid in bed wide awake thinking of all 4 of my children’s birthdays as 2 are in the same week as me - and I couldn’t remember them!! I tried and tried but nothing, and the more I tried the more upset I got.
In the end I had to look on my phone to see if I’d rang them/txt them/sent them presents, which I had. But the youngest who lives at home still, we apparently had his grandparents over for a takeaway. I have NO memory of it and it was only 3 days ago.
What on earth do I do?? I haven’t spoken to my doctor yet as the last time I was there was for something random and she said I had low blood pressure but that was it.
I’m absolutely worried sick.

Smow I am going to guess its stress and goodness knows you have had enough this year. All my life I have had a poor memory and it goes to nothing when I am under stress. Can I ask (don't answer here if you don't want to) have you ever spoken to your GP about the pile of stuff you are labouring under and asked for a counselling or emotional health service?
Smow think your GP needs to be your first port of call, give the surgery a call for an appointment 1st thing in the morning. xx

No I’ve not spoken to my doctor about any of it. Don’t think her day is long enough!
Smow, don't want to pry, but could age be a part of the problem? I only ask because my short term memory is not that good.

Don’t think so, this has just come out of nowhere really. How can I have no memory of having relatives over for a meal just 2 days ago??
I too thought of stress...and could you be menopausal? That can play havoc with your memory. I seem to recall you mentioned this a while back. You really need to speak to your doctor.
Are you drinking too much, Smow?
Smow, it is so much more common than you think, with stress. Things just "blank out," and it is not necessarily permanent important or worrying. I have had it several times myself,.and absolutely nothing physically wrong.
I would suggest you obviously speak to your GP in any case and- hopefully- be reassured. But get checked anyway, just to be sure xx

No, I’m not eating enough though, I do know that. I’ll ring the doctor first thing in the morning.
Smow you still need an initial appointment with your GP. He / she can assess your needs far better than us.
Let us know how your appointment goes, if you want to. Wishing you all the best xx
That is not right, Smow. Please see your doctor soon.
This is not the first time you've spoken about memory lapses on AB. It would scare me too but apart from support on here only a medical professional can help you.

Sorry the doctor didn’t say low. Look pressure, she said low blood sugar - I typed the wrong word. I’ll ring them in the morning x
smow, this is what doctors are for. Don't tell yourself you're not sick enough to see one. You're paying for the NHS, you're fully entitled to its services. Good luck.
It's concerning for you Smow. I understand, believe me, I do, but what do you expect people on here to say? That bit I don't understand.
Low blood pressure or blood sugar?

You really need to do something about your insomnia and your eating habits.
That'll teach me not to submit!!
You've not forgot AB, so there's a plus. :0)
Take an early morning urine sample to the doctor's appointment, smow.
