I always go by if I’m thirsty. Personally I don’t think it matters what time of year because if it’s hot you probably become more thirsty so drink more.
There again, if you work in a centrally heated environment in the winter, you may become thirsty because of that.
Drink when you’re thirsty, can’t go far wrong.
The "experts" say up to 4 litres for a man, 3 litres for a woman. I think I would find it pretty hard to drink that much water. Now lager or beer - no problem!
If you get thirsty you left it too long. I reckon on about 250 mls an hour which seems enough for a baseline but in hot weather or if I am active double that
I'm never half an hour away from a drink of water... I've no idea how much I drink in a day but carry a water bottle with me if out and about... even have a glass next to my bed at night. Mum finds it funny because four Aquarian's she knows are exactly the same.
The problem is of course if you drink too much you're in and out of bed at night going to the loo. I personally don't think I drink enough. 1 cup of coffee in the morning and sips of water during the day. If I go round to a friends house sometimes another cup of coffee. Do you have a regime for drinking a glass of water say every hour?
I think I will have to set myself some sort of target perhaps every morning I should pour a litre of water into a jug and make sure I drink it all that day.
Thanks for all your advice. x

Why? If you feel the need, have a drink. If you don't then er… don't.
I don't understand the obsession with needing to guided in everything we do. Your body tells you when you need a drink and I would dispute the argument that by then you've left it too late.
