Flu Jab

Has anybody else had a bad reaction to this year's flu jab? It's the first time I have reacted badly and I've been having them for many years.

I ate a lot yesterday ummmm when I felt better. Far too much actually. We had a roast dinner in our favourite pub! I do have divertcular disease and IBS. I very easily get upset tums. I have eaten a bit today, but I feel sickly. Drinking loads of water.

Retro, I have been having them for 20 years or so too with only the occasional slight reaction. Missed last year because I basically forgot due to other circumstances taking over, and then got the flu and a chest infection followed. This feels just weird.

When we traveled India that was how she was addressed.You ought to go there some time. They are very respectful and have no shame as a consequence. :-)

I am sure ummm would have a fit of the vapours if I addresses a Hindu Gentleman as 'Babu'. Again, that is a term of respect but I doubt ummmm would know that. :-(

the ingredients vary from year to year, so it's not impossible to react to one when others have caused no problem.

It is odd. The Australian virologist or whatever he calls himself has since doubted the efficacy of his own product. lol

it has to be prepared some way in advance so it's possible for new strains to turn up late in the day.The people who produce them can only guess what they'll need to fight next year's strains (they can check out the southern hemisphere to see what might be coming but it's still only a guess).

I've never had flu. My mother was always ill after her flu jab. I always say no when it's offered to me.

Retro. I love all things Indian and would love to go. Unfortunately, health andmobility issues put me off, as would the amount I would have to pay for insurance.

The memsahib was a nurse for forty years and she was offered the flu jab,along with her colleagues, for obvious reasons. She always refused and never caught flu(Thank God). Now she has retired in the last three years she gets it each year. Odd?. Or maybe there is a raisin d'etre.

Flu jab is a dead virus so you simply can’t have a reaction to that. What you may have a reaction to is the other stuff in the mix.
If you have one bad reaction really don’t let it put you off having it again, it could in reality save your life.

I haven't had flu jab this year or the last two. I didn't get flu.

Flu was a lot worse than this Diddly I just couldn't get out of bed at all, but I understand how you feel. My mum reacted very badly once and wouldn't have it again.

Vagus, yes Ì understand that. Trouble is with me is that am prone to bad reactions to all sorts of things including most medications.

I have had Flu once. I reported sick and was in my bed praying for death. I laughed afterwards when some of my colleagues reported sick for work and took their 3 day self certificated. You do not recover in 3 days. Once was enough. Another bout would kill me with my current health problems.
A friend recently described the Flu as thus.
" You lie in bed feeling like death. Your winning lottery ticket for £12 million is on your bedside cabinet. Because of the sweats you have a fan on and the window open. The ticket is blown out the window and you don't move or give a dam or try to retrieve it"
I think I recall feeling something like that.
