Vulnerable People Letter

A close relative suffers from Ulcerative Collitis..Asthma and Angina.

She hasn't recieved a letter that went out to people considered vulnerable.

I've looked everywhere I can think off to find what she needs to do to be on that register.

The surgery say it was sent via the NHS and nothing to do with them..

Does anyone know where I might find the info, without ringing the NHS who are inundated as we all know.

She is not alone. I have had cancer resulting in Chemotherapy,Cardio Vascular disease, Quadruple heart by-pass, 7o yrs. I thought I would be classified as in the vulnerable category. My wife with 40 years experience as a nurse and her colleagues all thought I am in that category.
As I also have not received a letter to confirm I am. I assume the NHS think I am not. I suppose I should be elated and jumping through hoops but I am not.

Life could be worse. Chris's link reminds me that there are "Individuals who have been given a prognosis of less than 6 months to live" ... imagine you'd just had that, and then this hit. So much for your bucket list ...

I'm on chemotherapy, so I probably should have received a letter. (I haven't). The list of relevant conditions is here:

However, while I'm taking steps to minimise the number of times I leave my house (and to follow all the usual guidelines about social distancing, etc), I'm still doing my own shopping, etc.

The list that Chris has given the link to, cuts out quite a lot of us who are vulnerable, but just not vulnerable enough!

you can self register at the link Chris has given. When the letters were sent out, they said while they were doing their best, some people might be missed and some would be sent the letters in error.

My friend literally had the police come to her door from the hospital, warning her she was vulnerable and not to go out.

Sorry to be dim, but if she knows she is vulnerable why does she need a letter?

sherrard, for one thing certain supermarkets are reserving all their delivery slots for such people. I think other services are also priortising them for help.

I'm on fortnightly injections to lower my immune system and didn't get a letter . I don't need one , using my common sense to self isolate which I must admit is easy as our nearest neighbours are 1/4 mile away.

I'm on weekly immunosuppressant injections and have other health conditions and haven't received mine yet, need it as a back up for work, as I'm self isolating, and other things.

I've had it backed up medically, last spoke to a GP who said quite a few people haven't had one yet, they are being sent out via "codes" so taking a while and they (GP surgery) will also be following up with a letter to all the patients they deem vulnerable too.

So it may be, if eligible under the criteria, a letter just hasn't come through yet.

My daughter has Crohn’s disease and is on immunosuppressant drugs every eight weeks. She hasn’t received a letter either.

yup me

letter from the practice - but I am on the practice list as more likely to croak from any cause

it just tells you to lock yourself away
it doesnt give you any further rights

I have printed it out along with a good clinic letter (we applauded when he walked in as we thought he would be carried in in a long wooden box - that one) - in case one of the guardians of the law wonders why the hell I am out of the house.

I am unlikely to ask for admission to hospital if I am hypoxic s I think treatment will be futile - so why try ?
BUT
if both of us cant cope .....
anyway we are very likely to be staggered by five days
