Two,why are you taking Naproxen for toothache,it is a anti inflammatory drug.
Question Author
I know, but I take it for Arthritis and it seems to be helping with the toothache also.
See Section 4 here:
https://www.nhs.uk/medicines/naproxen/
(I suggest that the references to 'muscle, bone disorders and painful periods' might be those closest to dental pain).

Better still, phone a pharamacist!
What does packaging say for daily dose?
Question Author
Hank you...I've been given a prescription for antibiotics by the doctor, (cant get hold of the dentist) hoping the antibiotics soon kick in, I take 1 naproxen in the morning and 1 in the evening anyway, for the Arthritis, and I just wondered if I could take 1 extra naproxen at lunchtimes until the tooth pain subsides.
You should be fine slotting an extra dose in for a short time FS, feel better soon.

Thank you Mamy, it's been excruciating, many times, I've been close to putting a pair of pliers to it, and giving it a sharp tug
I know that feeling, awful.
It depends what strengh they are,if its 500mg then my pack says 2 a day max,i feel your pain and hope you feel better soon.
Question Author
Thank you, yes they are 500mg my pack does also says 2 a day which is what I usually take, but if I take with a meal I hoping one extra for a couple of days wont hurt to much.
sqad's usual advice is to take what it needs to stop the pain. Make sure it's with food, though.
