getting too drunk
i used to be able to drink a fair amount of alcohol and still hold myself together. lately, just a couple of glasses of wine can have me almost passing out! Would there be a medical reason for a sudden low resistence to alcohol effects?
its not everytime i drink. i dont drink every day (about once a week). sometimes i can drink several spirits (between 6 and 8), and be fine. Other times just 2 or 3 can have me blotto. I end up taking myself to bed and 'passing out'.??
Any ideas?

i am female. 32yrs. no medication. if i was deficient in zinc, would i only sometimes get so drunk i pass out? do zinc levels go up and down?
do you think it could be depending on my emotional state. the worse case scenario is when i have a bit of an emotional event, then have a drink? But not all the time. sometimes im just on my own at home... have a few glasses of wine and im off my head!
Perhaps your liver has been damaged by previous excesses and is just telling you it can't cope with alcohol any more by reacting violently. I don't think the lesson of George Best will be lost on anybody.
I believe I read once that the herb Milk Thistle (or something similar) helped ease the after-effects of drinking too much alcohol but it's probably best not to go that route in the first place. Life is too precious to ruin it.
