son moved to another hospital & has blood in stools, constantly spitting foam. Muscle loss but mentally good.

Do you think his meds might be the cause?

Could be, but this need checking out as there are more serious medical conditions that could be causing these symptoms. I'd be concerned about the blood in his stools and muscle loss.
I would have thought they would help.

Is he a drinker?
Given his ailment Tambs, it could be any number of things - he should ask them although I am sure they are investigating this new development.
Question Author
he does not take alcohol. Doc seems to think his ailment is due to formaldihyde that is used in his occupation in funerals. If so then surely others would suffer same.
There probably are other cases Tambo, as formaldehyde is used in various occupations in one form or another.
Question Author
I hope those using formaldihyde take precautions with masks & gloves. Spose we think we're invincible till too late.

His hospital (Ealing) is almost empty as only severe accidents & moribund (nr death) patients are admitted, making more medics to treat patients.
formaldehyde won't affect everyone equally, any more than anything else does. Most people are fine with peanuts, others die if they have any contact. Some get colds worse than others. If the doctor thinks it's a possible cause I'd let him get on with investigating.
Well, new research suggests that blood thinners can help protect against Coronavirus in that they prevent deadly blot clot formation in the lungs so being on Tinzaparin is possibly a good thing right now.
He is on some quite strong stuff for systemic sclerosis
* tacrolimus'
and I think our appropriate action is to say that this is better left to the physicians treating him and good luck

constantly spitting foam I would put at pulmonary hypertension
nit hell what do I know - I am a walk in on AB

Good luck to the fella
