Any Menthol Smokers?

Hi all, putting this in B&S because don't want the usual anti-smoking comments I'd get in CB. A genuine request for commiseration and advice. I've smoked menthol cigarettes my whole smoking life and also have zero mental desire to give up. I don't know what to do from Wednesday when menthol are outlawed (within UK ad EU). I don't like the taste of regular cigarettes. Anyone in the same boat, what are you going to do? Any tips for finding a black market supply :-)

Interesting, ael. I understood from a menthol smoker many decades ago that the cigarette packet was infused with menthol and not the cigarettes, hence they went stale if transferred to a cigarette case.

Stock up as much as you can on the menthol ones but also buy some normal cigs. Try alternating between the two so you gradually get acclimatised to the normal ones but have the "reward" of one you really enjoy to look forward to. Good luck!

Could you try camping as I am sure that they would have menthol flavours?

Oh bums. I'd sort of forgotten about that. My supply is holding our delivery slot for next Friday. Probably won't get those.
The village shop sells Consulate which I'm not keen on so I've bought from the big town which we are avoiding just now.
Ael's post sounds interesting. Wonder if the village shop would get some in for me to try.

If Sqad means vaping...unless he knows something about you that I don't.... ;-).....I still have a large supply of menthol capsules from when I tried e-cigs.
I had a dreadful reaction to them. Took me a while and a few unnecessary hospital tests to realise it was the e-cigs.

My uncle did his National Service in Austria immediately after the last world war. He was,for many years,a very heavy smoker but wasn't over keen on the NAAFI issue smokes. He managed to get hold of menthol crystals in a local Austrian pharmacy and used to poke them in with the baccy. When I was young, in the 50s, he always alternated his smokes between a Senior Service and a Consulate. I wonder if menthol crystals are available over the counter.
