Where to buy Coproxamol in batches

Does anyone out there know where I could purchase monthly batches of Coproxamol tablets for ostoporosis? Very effective pain relief, but I need to source from pharmaceutical company as prescriptions more expensive than private prescription for tablets. Any information would be greatly appreciated, and probably rewarded. Danny B

Hi Danny,I understand how you feel about coproxamol being helpful for your osteoporosis,however as you will have seen from your previous answer, it is being gradually phased out,much to the annoyance of many many patients one of whom has been my husband.Because of this decision,I emailed ministry of health and moaned at them etc! and their reply was to the effect that if you are having it prescribed at present and your GP is in agreement,they would still be able to issue a prescription for you but it would be on a named patient basis only;thus if your GP thought you were a worthy case,you should be able to continue getting them. I doubt if you would have any luck getting them from a pharmaceutical co. as they are prescription only,however they seem to be available from the USA they seem to have them for sale to anyone who will pay the rather outrageous cost entailed.

See if your doctor will help you before going down that road,it might be your best option for getting a regular supply.I hope you are successful.

Danny ,just type "coproxamol" into the search bar and you should get hundreds of websites,some of which allow you to purchase the drug from them;it's not the ideal solution but if you are desperate it might help.

If you know anyone going on holiday to Malta, get them to bring you some back.

You can buy 100 at a time, for around �2 to �3. When I go, I go into several pharmacies, so I usually come back with 6 or 7 boxes, which will last months. Some pharmacists will ask if you normally take the drug, and I usually tell them that I do, but have run out- I have never been refused yet.

Yep, it's no longer allowed in this country - much to my disgust. I got my Dad to bring me 100 from America - cost about $50. He ordered them online, but out of the 6 companies he ordered from, only one would carry out the order - sorry, don't know which one.

The results of several international surveys have found this drug to be no more effective than regular paracetamol during blind tests. The difference in percieved effectiveness is due to the placebo effect only. It is being phased out in the UK as a result of the lack of evidence of efficacy and cost effectiveness. You can get them from overseas fairly easily (eg Malta or Mexico) or through the internet (usually dodgy) but you'd be better of tackling the root of the problem in conjunction with a proper Doctor, rather than trying to defeat the system.

AYB- it's actually being phased out in the UK, due to concerns over "accidental suicides". The maximum dose is 8 tabs/day, but it has been found that deaths have been occuring if people mistakenly take as few as 10 tabs/day.

As one who has taken Coproxamol for years for a back injury suffered in a car accident, Much as I would like to get pain relief from paracetamol alone, I can't. Yet I could with coproxamol. Placebo effect? possibly, but whatever it was, it worked.

Coproxomal works better at least for me. Its not an addictive feeling i get as I ave moved off them before but measurable better relief if it be known.
