Stress and Menopause

My Wifes Father died recently after a sudden accident, One of my wifes sisters age 46 has suddenly gone straight into what seems to be a full menopause situation - hot flushes, fatigue, etc...etc.... her Doctor says it is some kind of stress induced menopause. Has anybody suffered with the same apparent effect and is it permanent or will she ever go back to ''normal''
