Most of them prefer a minimum level of clothing too, zylaphone.

So just a bikini then Douglas! Meant should you wear a mask too
yes I could see that a face shield, while it will protect the WEARER from spatter, it won't protect those around from the exhaled breath of the visor wearer....actually it won't protect the wearer from exhaled breath either.
I wouldn't be confident with a shield alone.

Thanks all. I find a mask so uncomfortable, but needs must. Reggie is also uncomfortable with it!!
They are not comfortable, Zylaphone but try to find one shaped more like the head of an axe rather than a flat pleated one. I've experimented with many and the axe head one is much better.
If Reggie is your dog I have no suggestions but when I have time I'll try to make a doggie acceptable mask..... :-)

Thanks Guess, what is an axe shape mask. Sure Reggie the dog will survive !!

You put a mask on Reggie ?? :-)
That’s it, Woof thank you. In the right fabric that’s the most comfortable.
The actual wording of the law is. . .
“face covering” means a covering of any type which covers a person’s nose and mouth.

As I see it, a face shield does NOT fully conform to that requirement. If I was a store manager, I'd refuse entry to anyone who was only wearing a face shield.

Thanks everyone, will take on the advice, was being was silly about Reggie’s face covering!
Zylaphone. I have a huge stash of funky fabrics. One often requested by friends for a mask is the lime green one covered in little funny bats. Now if you can find a fabric with lots of bones or cats on it that would be fantastic on Reggie.. :-)
Chris, there doesn't seem to be any standards at all, are there? You could pretty much wear a hairnet or a bit of fabric and that would be acceptable?
I can see holes in one of your suggestion :-)
you can certainly wear a bit of fabric (scarf) provided its fastened into place and doesn't need to be held in place with a hand.
Me too :-). But, as far as I have seen, you only need to cover nose and mouth? It doesn't seem to matter what with...
I suppose they should stress no string vests or hairnets for those who don'r get it - yes.
Yes, but legally... they are acceptable.
