Ferritin Levels.....

My friend has had a private blood test done with a very reputable organisation as she wanted several things tested and can’t get to see her doctor for love nor money.
Her results came back today and it says that her ferritin levels are higher than normal, and if she is taking supplements she should stop them immediately. Well she isn’t , so she wants to know what could possible be making her levels raised.
Any ideas??

She needs to have any sort of consultation with her gp..face to face, telephone or video, and have a chat about the results.

The only thing I do know is that she has an under active thyroid

I am beginning to feel quite concerned when I hear people saying they have to wait ages to see a Dr. I am beginning to think I am really quite ill because I don't have to wait more than a day to see a Dr in my practice. Or maybe I am just lucky where I live. Scotland :)

Its funny that, I had Coronavirus at the end of march and in April and May tested high for ferritin, the doctor remarked that it was a common finding in people that had the virus, my levels now have returned to normal.

I will give your friend a private consultation but it will cost her a pretty penny. Mind you, I'll just sprout what I read on Google. Don't think there are many "medical experts" on AB.
