Thinning Hair... Florisene?

I am over 70, and take Simvastatin and Levothyroxine in low doses. My hair has been thinning on the crown and fringe areas over the years, I am wondering if this could be caused by hormones or statins? Also Florisene has been recommended to thicken hair, does it interact with statins or thyroid drugs or could it be a good idea to try it? Thanks all

I think you should have a word with your GP and / or your salon stylist before you embark on any treatment, they are best placed to know your individual situation with regard to your hair, and any effect using a treatment may have on you.

It's unwise for strangers to advise on this without knowing you professionally, in order to advise appropriately.

Well, I am a stranger and don't know you but it is extremely unlikely that your medication has anything to do with your hair problems and as often certainly dueto ageing.
If you go down the road of self medication, then i see no problems.

smurfy, I hate to burst your bubble but my hair is thinning too. I have done the research and apart from minoxidil preparations (eg regaine) NOTHING has been proved to work. Things appear to work because many times hair loss is self limiting so people believe that whatever they were using when their hair improves has caused it. From my research, you can give yourself the best chance by living a healthy life, good diet, proper rest, avoid stress if possible and so on, maybe a multivitamin but honestly don't waste your money. Can I ask who recommended the Florisene?
