likely be before i feel better. Most definitely have a bad cold, flu, and am feeling fairly crocked.
how long do these things last. My last episode was years and years ago, and remember feeling unwell for what seemed a lifetime.
any suggestions what else to take as the ibuprofen and paracetamol aren't touching the sides.
sorry to be so negative, don't know where i got this and worried that it might be covid related. but i don't at least have a cough, just constant headache, streaming nose, and feeling generally out of it.
I understand that it must be scary but, as previously mentioned, the fact that you DON'T have a new and persistent cough means that you almost certainly DON'T have COVID-19.
There are so many strains of flu that it's impossible to say how long the one you have will take to run its course. Just be thankful, if you can, that you're not in a ventilator in your local ICU...
I'd say flu lasts about 3 weeks, start to finish....or feeling measurably better at least. Just be patient emmie, it won't go overnight. Do you have a fever?
Jim I had Covid pretty bad, early doors, (positive test) and did not have much of a cough -shortness of breath but no cough. I think there is more than one strain of Covid and some effect people's lungs more than others.
Emmie, keep taking the paracetamol to try and keep your temperature down -I would avoid ibuprofen if it could be Covid - and drink plenty of high energy liquids. I drank lots of Lucozade which I think helped.
Flu usually goes on for about 2 to 3 weeks. Just keep hydrated and let it run its course. There isnt much else you can do other than carry on the the pain killers.
Whenever I've had flu I've lost my sense of taste and smell as well.
