Walking Through Treacle.
31 Answers
I've slept most of the day, and feel like I'm walking through treacle, thank goodness, as I know that if I was fully emotionally coherent I would be sinking into a depression.
So many family problems to worry about, but I don't have the answers.
The poverty I see around me, and on the television, and then the inevitable comparison to all of the Christmassy advertisements rubbing salt into the wounds of the poor, and apparent indifference of the rest of us.
I can't put the world to rights, and neither can you, but I, like you can only try to make my little but of the world a little bit better.
But just looming at the mess! Oh dear!
Thank goodness for pharmaceuticals.

I'm not complaining, for me personally, that is, I'm aware, but not suffering, but family problems are upsetting, and the awareness of the poverty around is doing its best to depress me, but it isn't, its being kept from digging into me by this treacle feeling.
Am really just sounding off, AB therapy if you like.

Sounds as though the drugs are working for you, Theland. Most of us get feelings of sadness with what is going on around us at times. Try not to focus on these things that bring you down. I know, it's easier said than done. Your family will have to work things out for themselves. You've a good heart, but you need to concentrate on yourself getting better, as much as you can. Best wishes. x
I have six children. Two are disabled a son and daughter.
Son not working mainly because of his disability, hopes to work soon. At present, struggling financially and emotionally.
Daughter, trained nurse, now can't work as severely disabled.
One of her daughters, 14, my granddaughter, recently attempted suicide. Another of her daughters is emotionally scarred by years of litigation from her biological father, (yes my daughter had a brief affair years ago). He, from Bangladesh, used the situation as an asylum seeker to get citizenship here, and the poor girl was dragged through emotionally damaging forced visits on the orders of the court.
My youngest son who lives with us has lost his job. He wants to go into nursing, but he is not giving it 100% effort.
Using class B drugs, always broke, losing enthusiasm.
My brotners marriage is over. He lives with his two daughters and their partners, his kids suffered with his drinking and temper. His son moved out and lives with a partner.
All have financial prob!ems. Brother still working, just about, takes so much time off be cause of arthritis.
My wife looks after me, bit is unwell herself.
They are the main points.
Thanks for asking.

Theland, I agree with the others that if it seems too extreme, I would get some further advice.
I remember when I started mine, I actually felt worse for the first 2 or 3 weeks, they do take time to have their proper effect and it probably won't be a steady improvement, but hopefully over time, more good days than bad ones.

I don't know quite what to say, theland, having read about your family problems. All I know is that - when I could see no point in living, and somehow came through, the 'Footprints' words were true. Get all help available, medication is a great crutch to help those 'claggy boots' plod through the bog. :)
