Am really struggling now - yes I know he can’t help it, but it’s getting worse and worse, it’s absolutely deafening. How he doesn’t wake himself up I do not know! and I’m sick of having to go into the spare room for some relief. Not even sure why I’m posting this as there isn’t really an answer, just to offload really x

I have been a snorer all my life.

I have had my tonsils and half my soft palette removed to try and stop it, and I was finally diagnosed with severe sleep apnoea.

It is a serious condition because the constant arrests in breathing causes the heart rate to increase as it re-starts breathing, and this is a serious strain which can lead to a heart attack.

I now sleep with a C-Pap mask which I loathe with a passion, but at least I am hopefully stopped from having a coronary in my sleep.

Your GP will refer your husband for a sleep study where his breathing is monitored. Stopping breathing an average of thirty times in an hour is the upper safe limit for apnoea - mine was measured at seventy-five!!!

Get your husband in for a study, and get him checked, it's something you need to either eliminate, or get treatment for.
Thanks for that, a-h, I'll mention it at the surgery. OH already has a triple heart bypass.
Just make the spare room part of your routine, and be grateful, Dave was the worst snorer the nurses in Heartlands had ever come across, earplugs, spare room, and I could still hear him, as could the folk in the flat upstairs, still wake in the night because it is too quiet.
