Hi Abbers. Had jab today. Never felt a thing. The people were volunteers. Apart from the nhs askin questions before the jab. I’m so grateful. Wait now for jab 2. Feelin uplifted but still usin a mask. Stay apart. Wash hands more. Sanitizer in my bag. Luv JPT xxx

Good news. Thanks. Quite a few posts on here talk about sore arms/feeling ill but we know there the minority- them who have no issues or minor issues tend just to get on with life and do'nt normally post there stories online so thanks

I`ve been vaccinated more times than I care to remember. No different with the covid jab - and a lot less painful than some I have had.

Sore arms are not the minority, it's quite common to have a sore arm after a jab. Some Abers have asked did anybody have any side effects and this is what they said, including myself, and then I got on with my life !!

Previous post was someone saying they had a sore arm after the vaccination and asked if others had similar. I don't remember anyone whinging, including me, we are all getting on with our lives and are here to help as always.

I had my first vaccination (Astra Zeneca) on Wednesday and grateful for it.However I was surprised by my body’s reaction to it,I was very tired for the best part of two days and cold for most of Thursday.Thankfully over it now.So to everyone who is expecting their vaccine beware you could be surprised by its side effects for a couple of days.

I am a side effect getter sometimes when I have had the flu jab. What surprised me about the covid side effects was that I had 24 hours of feeling completely fine before anything hit. Normally if I am going to react its 2 to 4 hours later. I wonder if that is why its causing more discussion because it comes as more of a surprise?

Had my Oxford jab yesterday at midday. Felt okay for the rest of the day, but before I went to bed I took my temperature and it was 100F. Woke early this morning feeling a bit hot, but took a couple of paracetamol and fine since. Arm not sore.

No pain whatsoever with the very fine needles they use. I gave over 50 blood donations (gold badge) with bigger needles, and my wife practiced on me with the dreaded grey venflon - the biggest they had at the time. It only hurts when they poke around looking for a vein....

Still shattered and hot/ cold after days but don’t actually feel ill, if that makes sense.

I had a headache the next day and fatigue, so took a couple of Beechams and went to sleep all afternoon!!!

Of course you should still be wearing a mask - it takes about 3 weeks after the jab to have any protection.

People should still be wearing masks in England because the rules say that you have to follow the rules whether vaccinated or not

I wonder if the delayed sore arm syndrome indicates that antibodies have been created & are working on the residue of vaccine still in the arm?

Fairlight. I was fascinated when you said you took a couple of "Beechams". I live near the factory which closed down about 30 years ago. Can you still buy them or did you have them in stock lol?!

My Mum used to swear by Beechams Powders! I take the pills if I get a headache ... following in Mum`s footsteps :)

To add, yes Beechams are still readily available.
