Is Expert Sqad About??
20 Answers
I am literally at my wits end. For months and months now my nose just starts randomly itching. I don’t just mean a normal itch, I mean it feels like I’ve got thousands of tiny spiders crawling all over it. The sensation is horrendous and I end up rubbing/scratching my nose to the point where I end up breaking the skin. It’s completely impossible not to. Absolutely nothing obvious triggers it off - I can just be watching TV, or like now I’m just laying in bed and it’s started out of the blue. There is absolutely nothing to see on skin. I’ve spoken to doctor and they just say take antihistamine, which make no difference. I can’t cope with it much more - the feeling/sensation is just unbearable and I’m almost in tears. I just don’t know what’s causing it, or how to stop it....I’ve rubbed and scratched so much in last hour that the skin is now raw... it is literally nowhere else, just my nose. Any suggestions or advice very gratefully accepted.

I assume that you mean the outside of the nose (skin) and not the inside of your nose ?
Almost certainly, based on your medical history and posts, that this is a psychosomatic problem and difficult to deal with.
It would require you taking anxiolytic medication if you feel that your itchy nose is a big deal e.g Asian or Valium.
This is outside of my expertise.
Have you been prescribed such medication in the past?
If you have, then I should start them again.

Formication, even localised like this is most distressing and is quite common around your age Smow - a few good ideas have been given already but there are a few here that may help too.
