Getting Worried About My Memory

I have been deleting old and unnecessary emails and found some relating to a problem I had with a faulty tv and Curry's.
The whole saga involved many emails to Curry's; me travelling a 40 mile round trip to get an independent report about the tv; sending an 'intention to claim' letter by registered post and finally accepting a refund + the cost of the engineer's report. I have checked my bank statements and the refund is there.
I have vague memories of the tv not working, I can remember buying a new one but nothing else. I would have swore the tv failed 8-10 years ago.

This all happened in February / March 2019. What has happened to my memory?

Maybe you've had two TVs break down over 10 years or so and there's some confusion.

I know nothing of your past and present medical history or your medications, but from what you have written it sounds like a very common problem.......?old age. It comes to us all.
Monitor the situation for the next 6 months and seek medical opinion or get back to AB if you have other problems such as writing or speaking problems.
No big deal at the moment if at all.

I have severe memory problems, to the point that my doctor referred me to a neurologist. Endless tests, all perfectly fine. I can memorise my bank card 16 digit number, expiry date and 3digit number on back off by heart but I cannot remember giving birth to my last child!!

I believe women are programmed to forget childbirth, Smow, because if they remembered it all they wouldn't go through it again (seriously).

I struggle remember my phone number but I can remember the one we had when I was 4. (Admittedly that was 5 digits, the current one is 11.)

douglas does have a point. It can be easy to confuse stories of similar events in the past. Is it possible the TV has failed more than once?

We have a phone landline but have no idea why as the only person who rings it is my MIL lol. Everyone else rings my mobile!

2020 is a bit of a blank - I think of things that happened "last year" only to realise it was actually in 2018 or 2019!

jno, I remember taking the previous tv to the tip because it was knocked off its stand and broke - it was an older tv so we weren't too bothered.

I just have landline for the internet access aswell, but get a good deal from virgin for my mobile.

Yes I guess it’s for internet, just nobody rings the actual phone lol.

it's common to forget things as you get older, less common I think to remember them but get the time so wrong. Still, make a note any time it happens. (I wouldn't bother with small stuff like forgetting a word or a name, though, that's possible at any age.)

We have an old tv in the loft (converted attic) otherwise just flat screens.

TonyV, if you're with Virgin for your broadband you don't need a landline.

I do, too, Smow, but wonder how many of memories are true memories.
I distinctly remember my gran taking me see an aunt I had never met before when I was around 7. She lived in a beautiful house three bus rides away and was very old. She definitely did a handstand against the wall. She must have done as I remember it so clearly.
