Has Anyone Done A Bowel Screening Test

i have been sent a letter from NHS to say they are sending me a kit, is it easy to do, sorry if its early to talk about such matters, but i guess now is as good a time as any..

yes they do, you have to drink 2 litres of this vile liquid first to empty the bowels. it is one of the most awful things i have been through, 3 times now.

Bowel scope screening ( a camera up the bum)was done as a trial in some areas instead of the poo kit but has been discontinued.
Colonoscopies are still going ahead. Colonoscopies are not done under the bowel screening programme.

i have had three colonoscopies as i have a form of IBS, been like it for three years now and counting.

Yes, you’ve said emmie, but they’re not, and never have been, part of the bowel screening programme as some seem to think. A different less invasive technique was used but it has been discontinued.

Yes, its very easy to do, just follow the instructions. It takes no time at all to do, nothing to worry about.

blood in the stools could be a possible pre cursor to having bowel cancer.
