Ex round for Christmas

Just split with my partner of 3 years. Originally he was going to be round mine for Christmas day. Do you think I should still ask him, as I think he will be on his tod if not. Or am I being too soft?

too soft! - you'll never make a clean break and get on with stuff. - unless of course you still like each other, maybe the christmas magic could work it's wonders for you both. i hope so! - good luck

It depends on what is the alternative. Have you been invited somewhere else for Christmas dinner or will you be on your own? Maybe a last dinner together is better than being lonely. Christmas is a lonely time and people assume they have to be enjoying themselves but it isn't always like that. If you have somewhere else to go to then I would go with the alternative.

Thank you both for answering. I agree with you JSK that it wont be making a clean break if I do ask him over. He may not want to come anyway. And funnywebsite, no I wont be on my own, I will be here with my kids. His will be with his ex wife.My ex husband always tries to come over and scronge a Christmas dinner, which really does make me mad. But thats another problem I guess!

Well then I would make a clean break and don't invite him. If you and him got left on your own you might end up in bed together which would be a bad thing.

Yes, I agree. It's really important for you to make a clean break. It's hard because you probably still have some feelings for him but it's best for you if you allow yourself to heal.

Hi helster, thanks for your reply. You and JSK are absolutely right. And yes I do still have some feelings for him, but probably at this moment they are more negative than anything else! So what was I doing thinking of asking him over!! ummm.....Thanks again for your advice x
