Phlegm

I have phlegm permanently at the back of my throat. I have lived with it for sometime. The only time I have trouble is in the mornings when I wake up and when I first lay down to sleep in my bed at night. Is there a medication that I can take?

My first suspicion would be, just possibly, a pharyngeal pouch but, as Sqad says, this needs more detail if any conclusion is to be reached.
break up some eggshells and swallow with milk. It may help.
