If I'm travelling in a motor vehicle i get terrible nausea if I'm not looking around me .

For example I can't read a book without feeling really sick

Anyone else on here suffer from this phenomenon ?

What is actually causing this ?

Yes I do I have to either fall asleep or drive!
Thank you mamya
I get nausea on long car journeys if I sit in the back - in the front I'm fine.

I also find that if I read on trains, I get nauseous, for the reasons explained in the link.

Best option is either to look out of the window, or try and sleep if you can.
I've always had this and even if I try and read a text or look at a map for 30 seconds I instantly feel travel sick. I can't sleep in a car either (nor on a train or plane) but that's for a different reason. I have to sit in the front and for long journeys take a travel pill.
I feel sick if I read when in a car, though I can read from the phone. Other vehicles, trains, coaches, planes etc, I’m fine.
As a child I used to get sick on coach journeys (didn't get many car rides back then). Now generally I'm OK, but I avoid boats like the plague.

Only car I've felt sick in recently was in the back of a CitroenC5. Only about 20 miles but it was enough.
