Chris Martin always sounds like he has a cold. They are well-named.
It's hard to say, because there are loads of singers I don't think are technically great, but they suit what they do- and many "great" singers have horrible voices (females, usually).

Agree with Mozz. Definitely Elvis Presley. Could never understand the attraction. Half decent Karaoke singer (provided the audience was sufficiently well oiled).

Wow, am amazed at some suggestions here like Elvis and Rod and Adele but it's all personal taste so all are valid. For me I was and still am a fan of Stone Roses but was shocked when I saw Ian Browne singing live with he's other band, he was totally tuneless
