We did go out but i told him he was not for me, and we never saw each other again, bizarre experience.
I'd been telling myself for years that I spent too much time with other teachers. I worked with other teachers, I served on committees with other teachers, I spent much of my holidays (either on school trips or on courses) with other teachers and I largely socialised with other teachers. However I never seemed to do anything to get out of my rut.
Then, one day, casually browsing the lonely hearts ads in the local newspaper (more out of curiosity than anything else), I saw an ad from a woman who was seeking a partner where her description of her ideal soul-mate seemed to match me and her description of herself seemed to match what I was looking for.
So I made contact and we met up. At last, I thought, I was going to get away from spending all my time with teachers!
I'll leave you to guess what her job turned out to be ;-)

i had quite a few mishaps with blind dates, one was with a taxi driver, i was at a club and then afterward caught a taxi home, the driver was chatty and pleasant, he asked me to meet him another night for a drink - he picked me up from home in the cab, and we drove to a pub that he knew, i got out the cab and so did he, i turned to face him but he must have been much less than 5ft tall, he had been sitting on a pile of cushions in the cab so i didn't notice his stature. We did have a drink but i didn't see him again.
