I can see the response that ^ will get, but think about it. Should it be the meds there are many alternatives to Amlodopine. Pursue it because high BP is not called a silent killer for nothing.
Contact your surgery and I hope they can sort it for you.

I have checked the leaflet with my amlodipine.
This lists some side effects where you should contact your doctor immediately, but your symptoms aren't mentioned.
There is then a list of very common side effects (more than one in ten people)
It says if any of these cause you problems or if they last for more than a week, you should contact your doctor.
Abdominal pain is on that list.
It is therefore right for you to contact the doctor, and he or she will probably change you to a different medication. I believe they have several options.
I agree with what others have said. If you want good service from the doctor, try to hold back on the aggressive and critical tone you have shown here. They are only human.

--nailit--- You have to try to calm down. You've only been on this medication for a week but even so don't stop taking it without the doctor's say so. We don't know what your dosage is. Telephone the surgery first thing in the morning and tell them how you feel and see if the doctor can give you an alternative drug. In the meantime try a cup of warm milk when you take your next amlodipine. You may have been irritating your empty stomach lining if you took it with water. Try a few spoons of chicken soup and curl up on the couch with a hot water bottle.
