I am on 10mg of Citilapram and have been for over 8 years, I want to come off it, do you think I can just cut down, ( to maybe 1 every other day for a week or 2) or do I need to see my doctor first.

Good luck.
See 'Stopping citalopram' on the NHS website and, in particular, note the 'Important' bit at the end!

i note from your previus q's below you were actually on 20mg for a while? when did tha reduce? if recently, you may want to go a bit slower
I just stopped taking citalopram years ago as it was inaffective
with no (noticable) adverse side effects.
As others have said though, see the GP.
no you should NOT cut it down yourself
yes you should see your doctor

( NB you are not Nailit his experience may not help)
I cut mine down without seeing a doctor. I knew I didn't need it anymore when I kept forgetting to take it or I forgot to take it away on work trips with me. So in the end I gave up altogether. I was only on it for 9 months though, and it was for reactive depression (after a bereavement)
