Long Covid

I’ve had this since the end of March and have felt completely washed out and very nauseous. I couldn’t eat a banana if you paid me despite eating one for breakfast every day for years. Coffee tastes awful. Apricot Roll from M and S has been a lifesaver, and also crusty part-baked rolls that you finish off in the oven. It’s like being pregnant! Has anyone experienced this? The doctor said it usually lasts about 12 weeks which takes me up to the end of June. The only good thing is that I’ve lost half a stone!

I usually love strong coffee but went off it completely, couldn’t even smell it without feeling nauseous. And our usual toothpaste tasted disgusting, very bitter and made me heave. This lasted for about eight to ten weeks and gradually faded although a general feeling of vague slight nausea lasted a bit longer.
Other half’s sense of taste and smell was unaffected.
Funny how it affects everyone differently isn’t it?

Have just seen this.. Sorry to learn you are experiencing Long Covid symptoms. I have too since first falling to the virus March 2020..alas the situation has continued with extreme breathlessness consequently resulting in great fatigue.. Smelling and taste is also not what it ought to be but improving slightly in recent weeks.. This condition has had a marked impact on my usually very active lifestyle and I now have to measure activity on an ongoing basis.. Alas, for the moment, I can no longer join in with any pursuits that mean physical exertion of any type, even walking up stairs or inclines can leave me puffing and panting.. Docs have no idea how likely recovery is or how long it may take.. It is a matter of life modifications for the forseeable. Sorry for not offering anything more encouraging.. Hope you can adapt and adjust.. And feel a tad better soon xx
Thank you both for your replies. I haven't had bad breathlessness, but do feel a bit 'puffed out'. I've also had aches in my hips but that could just be old age. It has helped me very much to learn that I'm not alone. My daughter tells me to pull myself together and go for a walk. Yes, right!! I keep telling myself that it will go, and I must just be patient.
