Your doctor should be your first point of call.

it's tender to the touch and very unsightly, i look as though i have been punched in the face, not a good look.

i guess so, but they are a long way off, currently with the knee problems, it's a good 20/25 minute walk. I am not sure i can manage getting there.
Question Author
i think i will call the GP and see if they can see me today.
you need to see doc or get to A &E to have this looked at !
Question Author
indeed, its very painful will see if i can get an app with the doc.
This happened to my mother recently. A nurse practitioner talked to her on the phone and visited with antibiotic eye cream. She then also prescribed oral antibiotics.

Get a cab.
Question Author
maybe, though i find it hard getting in one, i have to use a local car company. and that's not that much different.
You should not go to A&E before attempting to contact and see a dr!
Get a cab if you cannot manage the walk.
If you wear glasses and have an optician, they should always be the first port of call, as they are specialists and have the right equipment to check out your eyes.
Pharmacist 1st.?
Phone consultation with the doctor

Straight to A &E.
Until you can get some professional help try warm compresses . They might give you some comfort.
The obvious thing would be to go and show it to your GP, it might not be, but it could be something unpleasant.
Dìd you just wake up like this today? Anyway personally I find the standard suggestion of go straight to A and E a cop out. First that place is for emergencies and secondly who wants to make their way there and sit in a waiting room for hours??
To be honest not sure why you are asking emmie when the obvious place to start is your GP. If not then call 111 and see what they suggest.
Might be too late, but what about Moorfields Eye Hospital. It's not far from you (I believe). They do virtual appointments as well
