Not Feeling Well At All
31 Answers
Fell two weeks ago with Menieres and Vertigo and sustained a bad eye and swollen lump on the back of head. Thought swelling would have gone down but not and so I am still suffering from extreme headaches and keep wrapping a scarf around the forehead. That was two weeks ago.
Last Tuesday was throwing dirty laundry from basket to ground floor and as I gingerly stepped down to retrieve it my left knee floundered and I fell again and hit my head onto the hall wall, so still have the swelling and extreme headaches. No I haven't been to hospital or doctors what with all the nurses strike etc.
Now feeling mentally ill as I so loathe Christmas and keep swamping my head with memories of good times of which I am not having right now.
I haven't been able to get out with the ice surrounding me and can't get a dog walker for my kiddo. Couldn't be any lower.
The eye is bad as is the swelling at the back of my head - I am concerned at the swelling as it has left me more deaf in my right ear than normal.
I do hope next week will see an improvement.
I did get notice from my doctor's surgery (prior to all this) to say that my blood pressure was not good and so have to get another test done next Friday.
I am so worried about losing the little hearing I had - I so hope it will go away.
Can't even bear to wash my hair it is too painful.

Your surgery do seem to be on your case, so please use them as much as possible.
As a possible alternative, have you tried the NHS Helpline ?
The hair can wait.

If you can manage it with your hearing problems, Jennyjoan, call the out-of-hours GP service and tell them that you're concerned about the ongoing headaches after a fall.
The number for North & West Belfast is 028 9074 4447. For South and East Belfast, it's 028 9079 6220.
The Cinnamon Trust exists to help elderly people with their pets if they're unable to cope (e.g. by providing volunteer dog walkers). I'm a member and I do know that they operate in Northern Ireland. Try a phone call to 01736 757 900 to see if they can put you in touch with someone who can help you. (Alternatively, you can use the web form here but I think that a phone call might be best, if you can manage it: https:/ /cinnam on.org. uk/cont act-us/ ).
I hope that you're feeling much better soon.

Jj. Let’s be honest here, you should have contacted a medical professional or telephone medical advice by now.
You have a collection of physical issues which must be assessed, not least high blood pressure, which you don’t want at our age.
As for your mental health it is every bit as important as any physical issues.
Please please seek advice, at least see gp.
You and sista will be reminiscing at this time of year as you always do.

I can understand your concern, but try not to panic.
Your hearing will not deteriorate and maybe will return to normal within a few weeks. No treatment needed at this stage.
The lump on the back of your head is no big deal and will resolve in the follpwing weeks, as will your bruised eye.
When you fell 2 weeks ago, you didn't mention unconsciousness which makes a brain bleed extremely unlikely.
I assume that it ws a Menieres attack two weeks ago.
You are depressed.
Take panadol or Ibuprofen for the headaches and make an appt for your BP check.....at your leisure.

Hey jennyjoan. I'm sorry I can't provide any suggestions that haven't already been made. I just wanted to drop by and say that I'm thinking about you and hope that you make a speedy recovery. You have such wonderful friends here (you don't need me to tell you that), I hope that in time you will consider me a friend too.
Please take care and get well soon *offers hugs*
