Left inside ankle has been a wee bit painful for a few weeks bearable not worth making a fuss over.
However this morning I wake up an I can barely walk on it and it is warm to touch.
Currently sitting with it elevated and have taken some paracetamol.
Any other suggestions?
Thank you

arthritis maybe? I won't provide any links because I don't want Sqad to shoot me, so "my aunt told me so" will have to do.

Thanks jno
Any bruising or swelling? It doesn't sound like plantar fasciitis, which I sometimes get, as the pain is not from the arch or heel. I have no medical training btw! Have you tried a cold compress?

Hope someone else in the know sees your thread. Sorry it is painful :(
Does sound like an acute arthritic episode or perhaps gout as an outside call.
Not keen on Panadol as you need an Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory such as Ibuprofen.
If you can take ibuprofen, the 400 mgms every 4-6 hours if required.
If you can take Ibuprofen , the Paracetamol 1,000mgms when required up to 4,000mgms a day (if required).
Cold or hot compress may ease the pain and try and keep you foot elevated.
^^ Thank goodness for Sqad x

A little swelling but in a line not circular if that makes sense?
Cannot take ibuprofen so will stick with paracetamol.
Thanks all especially sqad
Hope it gets better soon Red.
Ice, you are doing the rest of the holy trinity of rest and elevation.
How's your ankle red?

Hi Sqad, compared to when I wrote this at least I can now walk on it.
However it is still painful.
I will phone the GP next week if it continues to be this painful.

Thank you
O.k.
Choux, I’ve currently got plantar fasciitis for the second time. Last time the pain was under my foot - this time it’s my ankle. Like RH I’m pretty immobile.

Arghgh it’s back with a vengeance this morning can put my stocking on which means I can’t go out today.
RH, do you have a sports injury specialist close by? If so, I urge you to make an appointment.
Question Author
I don’t know Naomi, will look into it.
I have a Dr appointment tomorrow about something else so will mention it to him.
Good. The last time I had this I went to A&E and they told me it was a severe sprain that would take a long time to heal. After six months on crutches, and much nagging by a friend, I went to someone who deals with sports injuries. Two visits and £80 later, voila! I didn't bother with the NHS this time. I've had one appointment and have another next week. I'm hoping he can work his magic again. Being so immobile is just awful.

I think I am going to have to get my walking stick out of the garage!! I haven’t used it in 5 years
RH; I don't know what the underlying cause is & you should see a specialist, but have you tried applying Voltaren ?

It contains the powerful pain-killer Diclofenac, which I can't personally take internally, but it does work (counter-intuitively) when applied to the site of the pain.

I haven’t but thanks I will get the man slave to pick some up for me

Am tempted to take Jess’s medicine for it as she’s not limping after 2 days on her meds
